Reflections of a Vessel

A poem by Sharkey Collier

Who am I? What am I?

I am he who has a seed that grows.
I got it from my Father;
He sees it, He knows.

Sometimes I look and I don’t see.
But it’s written in his book
He tells says it in me

Add some Word and Action too,
Just look at what
My Father and me can do

He holds my hand even when I fall
He wipes my tears when I call

“ABBA” I cry and say aloud
He says “My Son is calling,
He makes me proud!”

My Father is here, He’s always home
I will Trust in Him, I’m never alone.

He’s given me a big brother to help me out,
Jesus the Christ is his name
I yell and shout

He has done for me what Father said to do,
He did that same, for your life too.

Take Joy in this a give a shout,
Show them our Father an Big Brother
And tell them what they’re all about.
