I was awaken with the task at hand that was implanted by the constant thought as I was sliding deeper into my one eye open sleep.
I moved with the flawless actions of an Olympian focused only on the task at hand moving closer to the goal that was seared in my brain, and then as I moved closer to my objective I noticed that I was lacking a major component.
This missing component that was so miniscule, that was so small; I ventured over to this dimly lit area and began the search for the component that was so trivial yet I found my self compelled, drawn in, obsessed -absorbed even- in this meaningless hunt. I moved and dragged, scraping the bottom.
Why, why was I so engulfed in this frenzy of colors and yet my ability to distinguish between them was fading fast. I relentlessly kept going on and on. All the time as my body moved I had the awareness that I may be going MAD, captivated by an endless search for a matching Sock.
Yes, a sock that matched. I had no idea how much time passed or why I stood at that drawer digging for a stupid sock, when all I wanted to do is sit my butt down and read the Word of GOD before I went to work!
I was ashamed of the lack of control I had over my own mind. Yes, I was distracted by a drawer of socks and I have no idea where they could have gone, it seemed that they all looked different and were all different colors- WHY?!?
Don't be fooled my brothers and sisters in Christ. Here's the lesson I want you to learn: When you desire to read the Word of GOD don't be distracted by looking at your feet and wondering where your socks went, just follow your feet to where they really want to take you!
PROVERBS:
4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil (in my case the sock drawer).
God Bless You!
