God loves you very much. Each and every born again Christian is a child of God. John 3:1 says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the Sons of God”
Why wouldn’t he love us? If God provides for all his creation with that which it needs to survive, then why would he not do the same for His own beloved children? He would bestow even more upon His own children, right? And He has.
He has given us the wonderful Gift of Holy Spirit sealed inside us, not just upon us like a servant who can lose it. No. He sealed it inside of us. Ephesians 1:13 says, “…after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.”
Sealed inside means that no one or no thing can take it away from us. Nor can we walk away from it, lose it, or give it to someone else. It is ours, it is a part of us for as long as we live.
Wordly Celebrities
I know most of you already know that and cherish the wonderful work that God has wrought in you through what Christ accomplished on the cross. But let’s take it a step further and put into another perspective:
Have you ever been star stuck by someone you admire, someone famous or a celebrity? Maybe you got a rare chance to meet that celebrity in person, exchange a few words or maybe even a hand shake?
How did that make you feel?
A little nervous or maybe a little awkward at first, but mostly it was a high right? Made you feel good, even special in some way. And then you rode that high for a while, told everyone you know about your encounter with greatness. Maybe even talked about it for years afterwards!
Well, God is the ULTIMATE celebrity. Think about it...
This incredibly powerful supreme being who is the creator of all the heavens and the earth, and the one who made you, and who is the most well known, most loved and certainly most talked about entity since the very beginning of time itself... He has gone out of His way to take you under his wing, adopt you as His child, He gave you all power available in heavenly places AND granted you the right to speak directly to Him and hear back from Him as well.
Not just a once in a lifetime 5 second encounter and maybe a handshake. He wants to talk to you. He wants a close personal relationship with you... all the time! Now how does THAT make you feel?
God made it available for every born again Christian to have a direct link, a hot line if you will, directly to Him. You can call Him any time and He will always answer. Not so with modern day celebrities and movies stars. And God was not like this in the Old Testament times under the Law Administration. This is something special.
He can now speak directly to us, spirit to spirit, and we can hear Him and perceive His words, thoughts, feeling and emotions. That is so cool! The creator of the universe talks to me. The way we can hear him is through the Gift of Holy Spirit. He infused a small part of Himself, His spirit inside of us so we can have a direct link to Him... and Him to us. That my friends is a very CLOSE relationship.
What have you done for God lately?
He went through all that trouble and effort just for us. What have you done for Him lately? Do for Him what He most wants; He wants to be with you. He wants to be part of your life. He wants to speak with you and have you hear Him. He wants to hear from you too!
But not just the usual prayers, you know, like where you are always asking for stuff like a kid in a candy store... or you ranting to Him about how bad things are or pounding your fist demanding to know why God has not performed for you.
Who are YOU to be doing that anyway? Who do you think you are talking to God like that? Would you talk to your Mom and Dad that way? No! Most of us shudder to think what would happen if we tried, right?
Give yourself to God like you give yourself to other people, your earthly loved ones. The same way you would do anything for your Mom or Dad, brother or sister, son or daughter or even a close friend if they needed you. You talk to them, you get to know them, and you spend time with them. You do things for them out of love and respect. God wants the same kind of relationship with you.
Operate the wonderful gift that God has given you; Manifest Word of Knowledge and Word of Wisdom. Listen to God, let him talk to you. The relationship that develops between you two and the ways in which He will enrich your life will surprise you, sometimes even astound you, and will always bless you.
